Engagement

This was an engagement we set up this weekend. This is one of my favorite things to do. I love making intimate close settings. We used lots of warm yellow, orange and peach tones. We also brought out tons of votives for a lot of warm light. It was really pretty with them all lit up. Hopefully we will get to do more of these soon!

Thanksgiving

So I had much grander plans for the thanksgiving table,  but of course it seemed like the days flew by and there was hardly any time to get it put together. I didn't even have time to do place cards or the gold trees I wanted to. It's alright though because my stuffing rocked everyones world this year. It was amazing if I do say so myself. It's my favorite part of dinner. I'm not much of a turkey lover. So although the table is not exactly what I had dreamed in my head it still made for a beautiful setting with my family. We made these really cute  Turleys for the kids table. Of course the tutorial leaves out a few things but we just got creative. It was a really amazing say. Mike and Josephine and I went for a run in the morning and it was so cold that the sweat on our hats turned to frost.  It was a wonderful day.

Afternoon Tea

I did all the floral arrangements in tea cups

This might have been my favorite project for the party. I had so much fun putting together princess party favors for all the girls. I think they were a pretty big hit.

We had a few princes at this tea party also. So I decided to make their gift bag a little more boyish.

This is the first round of pictures from the tea party. I didn't have time to upload them all this morning before I left for work so there will be some more to come. This was such a fun party. I honestly had more fun watching these little girls in their princess outfits than anything else. Don't worry there will be pictures of all the pretty princesses soon! I am really upset at myself for not getting a picture from the other angle of the table so you could really see the full length of it. You live you learn. I will get better at this as time goes on.

Party Time

Tomorrow we are doing a Tea Party for a little girl who is turning 5. I have been so excited to put it all together and do something on the more whimsical side. While searching for inspiration I found these darling party hats on Bubble and Sweet. I am determined to make them for the next birthday party we do because  these are seriously too cute. Friday will bring a post with all the pictures and the invitations we had made by Save the Date. I just love birthdays!

Date Night and Birthday Weekend

Mike decided to take some pictures  of me before we headed out on our surprise
A night at the Symphony with Mike. He planned the whole thing as a surprise. Isn't he just the greatest?
He is a looker I must say

So life has gotten so busy and I have missed out on some pretty big events in our little family. For my birthday weekend we had one of the best family dinners we have ever had at Chief's Table. Max gave us a long lesson in Greek Mythology , which was priceless. I love my family and I love the times we all get to spend time together. Max and Josephine are growing up so fast and every time I am with them I laugh. They are some of my favorites.

Vintage Love

Yellow Chippy table from Found Vintage Rentals. They have the most amazing selection of vintage furniture and accessories.

Flowers done by Aubrey of designs by Aubrey. She is so darling and has the most amazing eye. She is seriously so talented

More details and fun things to follow but hopefully they will appear on our new blog. I just had to post a few things so that you can all see what we have been working on. Just wait until you see all the outfits and the amazing home the reception was held at.  It was such an amazing experience and I learned so much.

A New Look for the Front Door

I know I said I was going to paint it a color but I had so much of this black paint left and I just didn't feel like going to the store again so I just went with black on this. I still really like it. It looks so much nicer then the beat up brown it was before. So many things in the house have just been chipped and scrapped so much that they need a lot of help. I am in the process of doing our living room right now, which has been a huge task. It is so fun to see all the changes

My dad is bringing me home these boots on Sunday from Denmark. Am I excited.. yes

One Week

Rachel's Wedding
I leave a week from today to go to L.A. for Rachel and Ken's wedding. It has been so amazing working with Rachel and her mom. They have such fun and creative ideas and the wedding is going to be so vintage and gorgeous. Rachel has an amazing collection of antiques and I love that she wants to add them into her wedding. I really love it when brides put a lot of themselves into their wedding. Rachel is going for soft pinks with an eclectic mix of glass. She also wanted to incorporate ribbon( we all know how much I love ribbon). I can't wait to get down there and finally start putting it all together. Kate is coming along so it's really going to be a party!
