Morning Out to the Orchard

Every week our church group has a play group that gets together. It has been really fun for Vi to play with other babies. She is getting to the stage now where she is fully entertained if she has a little buddy around. It was also really fun to have a lot of friends have babies the same year as I did. We are all going through the same things with our kids and it has been a really good support system for me. We hit up another orchard that week. There are a lot of them in Michigan, hence why the last 3 posts have all been at different ones.

Vi loved seeing the animals and really wanted to touch the pumpkins and walk around. All this girl wants to do is walk around everywhere, but she is too scared to do it alone so she insists on holding your hand. If you don't walk her around she can get a little angry(first real tantrums). It's not my favorite phase but it has actually pushed Vi to communicate with us more. she has learned a few more words/ phrases which help us understand what she wants. I am grateful for that part of it. I'm not so hot about my sore lower back from bending over to hold her hands all the time.

It was a little colder than we anticipated that day, so we didn't last too long. We also wanted to try and make it to campus to visit dad for lunch. Here are some pictures of Violet and her girlfriend Emma and some of Vi sitting on the wagons.

She was not sure how she felt about straw

3 Cedars Orchard
Last week we decided to get in some more Fall activities before it gets too cold. The boys get done with school at 3 on Fridays. So as soon as they were out we got in the car and drove about 25 minutes to 3 Cedars Orchard. It was so darling. They had little areas all dedicated to different nursery rhymes/children's stories. There were tons of animals and a playground and a corn box( like a sand box but filled with corn). They even have a little road with a bunch of John Deer tractors you can ride around in. We got cider and donuts and then played outside for a bit. As we were getting Vi out of the car we noticed she was acting really tired. Little did we know, by that night she would have a fever and be pretty much lying on the floor barely moving. So that is why she seems so sleepy and not really very chipper in most of these pictures. I was sad her first time to the pumpkin patch happened to fall on a sick day , but I think she still had fun. She always loves seeing animals. We took a hay ride out to the patch and then walked around until we found the perfect one. The whole place was so cute and it was nice to get out and do something fun since the boys had been in tests all week.
And now for pictures.

Sick Vi

just too tired

Dexter Cider Mill
Last year I was so crazy pregnant when we went to the cider mill. I was very happy to not be huge and dealing with heart burn this go around. We love the donuts and cider here. It is such a cute store and the people who work there are honestly so nice. The town of Dexter is just darling too. We met up with some of our friends on a Saturday to start off some of our Fall festivities. Vi loved the donuts and kept wanting bites. It was such a nice day and was actually a lot warmer than we anticipated. We really love Fall in Michigan. It is one of my favorite times of year. It also pulls at my native east coast heart strings with all the leaves changing colors.

Catch Up From The Summer
There were a few things I didn't have a chance to blog about because our summer got a bit crazy towards the end. So here is a random mix of pictures from a few things we did.

A few times this summer we headed out to Silver Lake. It is about a 25 minute drive from our house. They have volleyball courts and big grass areas with grills. It is a beautiful lake and the water is honestly perfect. Vi loved it. She got especially happy when some of our friends brought their dog in the water too. Here are Vi and Dexter hanging out in the Go Crib one of the times we were there.

In August we went blueberry picking at the Dexter Blueberry farm. It was the perfect weather and the best berries. We stopped in Dexter for lunch after and then hit up the Dexter bakery for a treat.
