My Dress Inspiration

This isn't my lace but this is the feel of what we will be using.
So this is what I was going for with my dress when I first started designing it. My plan has kind of evolved as I have kept planning. I was able to go down to Santa Fe with my mom and meet with Anne Lawrence of the Anne Lawrence Collection. She had the most amazing selection of Vintage Lace. We looked through things with here and had the hardest time finding something that would work with the layering I was wanting to do on my dress. Then Anne pulled out these 2 bed spreads from the 1920's. They were perfect! They were going to give us the length of trim we needed and they were gorgeous. So this week I took them into Penny the woman who is making my dress and we played with the lace over the base of my dress. I can't even express how excited I got. It's won't look like my original design plan but I love it!! The lace is more ornate than the lace we had thought we would use but it looks beautiful. I'm so excited for it to be done and get to try it on!!

Matt Clayton

I am so excited for this Saturday morning because Mike and I are lucky enough to have Matt Clayton shooting our engagement pictures. I found his blog a couple years ago and loved his style. So now after a long wait we are finally going to take our pictures. We have been waiting for the weather to warm up and things to look great outside. So if anyone has some fun suggestions for outfits we would love it. Sometimes it's really hard to narrow it down. So please let us know. Then Mike and I are off to California for a week. I haven't been back since last year when we went down for our good friends Nick and Sydney's wedding. So this is a long awaited trip!!

I did it!! I took my last sewing final at BYU and I graduate on Friday. I can't believe that I am done with BYU. I am not going to lie I am a little sad that it is over but I am excited to keep learning about sewing. My plans for now are to keep working at Trendy Tots and to also be a part of this internship that I got called The Fashion Genome Project where I will be working on a program that is similar to Pandora for clothing. I am really excited about it . I am hoping to take more art classes and sewing classes in the fall at the Art Institute. So thank you to everyone for all their support through the years.
I am happy to say I am a college graduate !!
